Day of Mourning message

Sisters and Brothers.

The work we do is important. Despite the dangers we face and the stress we endure, the members of Local 024 persevere.
This past year has seen it’s share of sadness. Together we’ve found the strength to carry on and make our workdays a little bit brighter.
Friday April 28th is the National Day of Mourning for workers who have been killed, injured or suffered illness as a result of work-related incidents. We also honour the many families, friends and colleagues who have been deeply affected by these tragedies. Please join us in observing a moment of silence at 1100. Every worker has the right to return home safely at the end of each work day. Let’s take this moment to reflect on those of us who did not.
